There's a road I know I must go

It’s interesting to reflect upon where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going. If we’re lucky, we take adventures and meet so many beautiful people along the way. And all the while, we’re stepping more and more into what’s right for us - whether that be a job, exploring interests, or enjoying life in our own unique way. Our story is just that - one of adventure, exploration, and a whole lot of music.
Greg and I fell in love around music. We both studied music, we were involved in many ensembles, we performed for groups and events, and Greg joined me on my senior recital as I played a Claude Bolling flute piece with my very own jazz trio (Greg on drums, of course). Greg even wrote me a song when we were dating!
Our wedding was nothing short of musical. We had original music played as I walked down the aisle and we sang ourselves out to The Way You Make Me Feel as husband and wife. At the reception, our friends and family were instructed to sing a song with the word “love” in place of clinking glasses in order for us to kiss. Because most of our friends and family are musicians, we had songs span I Believe in a Thing Called Love to Jesus Loves Me 😂.
We went on to have our respective music jobs, which arrived and retreated as the waves of the sea. We switched on a off with who had the “stable” job, and wished for a time to work together. As Greg put in the hours as a music director, and I devoted my time to music therapy, there came a point where we knew there was another road to explore.
In 2023, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary. We knew there was something special brewing, and it wasn’t a human child. Our love for music, years in the health care and music industries, and desire to bring people into a space of wellness with music led us to Music Can Help. As you may have read on our website’s homepage, it all started with a sticker.
As the years have continued to roll along, Music Can Help has taken shape. From stickers and t-shirts, to groups and events, this business had brought us together to share our gifts in a new and impactful way. We are grateful to be here and always so excited to discover what else is ahead.
Our first letter from music implores us to remember our musical history, enjoy the present song of our hearts, and look ahead to the sound that is calling us near. May you do the same. 🎶
